The 14th annual Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant that was held in Lauderdale, FL on July 10th was an event to remember. This was a night that not only changed the future for LeAngela but also for others, many of whom knew for the first time of being or feeling like a star. A night that was taken by the winner LeAngela, who not only won the most coveted Miss Hooters International 2010, along with a prize money of $50000 but she also also gets featured in the Hooters Magazine, national marketing campaigns and also TV commercials for a span of 4 years.
The remaining top four received cash prizes that would make them feel richer. Rachel Mortenson, the first runner up and second runner up Ashleigh Dunn along with Susan Murray and Janet Layug shared between them $40000. All the remaining top 10 finalists won $2000 each. The names of the top ten finalists in no particular order were, Theresa Trujillo, Lindsey Way, Tia Jackson, Chelsie Hurst and Elizabeth Johnston.
This event was covered live by Spike TV and it was hosted by Dan Cortese and backstage co-host Carrie Keagan. These two with their presence on the podium made this event a gala affair. Moreover with such beauties on stage, one could not take their eyes of anything.
These girls had come from over 455 locations and 29 countries, which makes it a really big event after the Miss World or the Miss Universe. The panels of judges were Chelsea Lately’s Chuy Bravo; the former hooters girl who also took part in reality TV series Survivor star, Jerri Manthey; Michael Yom the E! Entertainment host; the rock musician Ryan Cabrera and former member of Pussycat Dolls, Ashley Roberts.
As the pageant director, Beth Taylor said that the winner this year was not only about beauty, but beauty with brains. The judges were looking for the girl who not only looked fabulous but was also smart, intelligent and had a sane head over her shoulders who could bring a smile on everyone’s face.
