Every parent wants their kids to be healthy and for that they try all the possible ways. Feeding good and healthy food to the kids especially the school goers is a very tough job altogether. School aged kids require a very good nourishment as this is very important time for their physical growth as well as their mental development. Kids at their very young age can be managed and mom can feed them healthy diets, but as they grow up they become very choosy. Parents should pay attention of their kid’s likes and dislikes for the food. Parents should cleverly mix the nutritious food items with kid’s favorite snacks and drinks.

Here are few tips and tricks to make your kid eat some healthy diet.

Parents should start the kid’s day by giving them a nutritious breakfast in the morning. It is very important that the breakfast should be very healthy and heavy since it is a very long hours of gap between the dinner and the morning breakfast. Stomach is fully empty, and your kid needs something to eat to fulfill his or her energy needs. As far as possible, try to keep the breakfast nutritious. But kids are kids, sometimes they may not like to have what you offer them. In that case ask them their preferences, what they like to have or just give them their most favorite drink or snacks because something needs to go into their stomach. Kids starve whether they know it or not. In the morning if there is hurry for the school, they may not like to eat anything so the best thing to offer in the breakfast is some healthy drinks, juices, smoothies along with his favorite cookies. Make sure kid’s stomach is full because it has to last for around 4-5 hours before a lunch time. They will not able to concentrate in the classroom if they are hungry.

Here are few recipes that you can offer your kids at the breakfast time:

Prepare a fruit smoothies. You can add all the fruits available for the smoothies but make sure that their favorite fruit should be more in percentage than others.

Kids will never say no to a chocolate drink. So here is a trick, you can cleverly put some milk, honey, and vanilla with some amount to shredded chocolate to it in a blender. This is quite nutritious because it contains milk and honey and your kids will like it because it has chocolate in it.

Most kids like muffin. Prepare muffin from whole wheat grains to make it more nutritious.

Kids like yogurt too. Yogurt is good for health. You can even decorate it by colorful fruit pieces and it will be very tempting. You can even make yogurt shake by adding honey or sugar in it.

Now another big problem is what to pack for their lunch box. There may be a possibility that your kids left or share their food with their friends or just throw it away if they don’t feel like eating. Therefore, there must be something interesting in the box and also important is that they must be informed about what is there inside the lunch box. Never repeat the recipe in a week.

Here are few recipes that you can try to offer them in their lunch boxes.

Make sandwiches stuffed with their favorite veggies and cheese. You can cut sandwiches in a small sizes and it must be very creative so that they feel like eating. Accompany sandwiches with some carrots and celery along with the cheese.

Almost all kids prefer cheese and it is nutritious too. So stuff them in the sandwich, or you can just give them a cheese stick.

Mini yogurt cups in different flavor could be great and they will like it.

Salad with dressings could also be one option if your kids like it. You can prepare salad from the vegetables like cucumber, carrot, celery, etc.

Well, even though you did your best to offer them what you think is best for them. It is a possibility that they don’t eat with their stomach full. If they don’t eat lunch properly in the school, you may notice they come home very hungry. Every mom should prepare something nutritious and tasty to offer their kids when they are back from the school. You may also notice that kids may open the refrigerator and munch on anything they find easily in there.

Prepare a snack with some nuts, raisins and put it in place where they can easily find out. Kids like dry fruits and they are healthy too.

Young ones love popcorn. You can offer them with different flavors of popcorn.

You can also give them cookies, crackers made up of a whole wheat grains.

Dinner time is a very special time when all family members are home. It is the best time to teach your kids about the balanced food diet. Parents are the role model, they learn from you. It is important that you should also eat and talk about the benefits of each food served. Kids should not be always forced to eat what their parents want them to eat. Flexibility is also important sometimes. Go creative and make dinner time pleasant for everyone.

Ask your young ones to serve for them. Their interest for eating dinner will increase this way.

Ask them whether they like it or you can also ask them which dishes you liked the most and which is the least.

Whenever you and your kids have time, ask them to help in preparing some dishes. Kids who help their mom in preparing dishes also feel like eating those dishes.

Sometimes take them along with you for grocery shopping. Ask them to pick vegetables and other stuffs of their own choices. They will be eager to eat the dishes made from the stuffs they picked.

It is also important for the parents to decide which things they have to keep in their pantry and which they should not. For example, as far as possible do not keep soda and chips in your household because it is not good for health and it is very addictive also.

And in this way you can help your kids to eat nutritious food and help them in their physical and mental growth and development.
