It has been quite sometime since when people across America have been tired of listening a NO for checks being accepted as a mode of payments in Stores or restaurants. A campaign launched in order put the power back for writing checks and give the people the right to write checks has been initiated by the name of 'Stand Up for Your Right to Write Checks'.

A recent survey conducted by Ipsos reveals that around ¾ Americans wish to have the right of making payments by checks. Besides this it also reveals that checks were more reliable and convenient mode to make payments.

Although this was revealed from the survey, hardly a retailer is willing to accept it as a means to payment rather they consider cash or cards at a better mode for payment. This unwillingness by he retailers to accept checks as payments forms a barrier and limits spending by those people who want to carry out writing of checks.

Various means have been adapted in order to popularize this campaign and create more awareness among people about the convenience of using checks as mode of payment. These include a consumer micro site, social media, videos etc.

The consumer micro site has been named righttowritechecks.com which has been essentially been created for spreading awareness through the available contents on the site. It includes an online petition too where forces can be united to enforce their right to right checks.

Produced by College Humor a very popular comedy video has also been put up on the site named ‘Duncan Steele, The Man with Checks Appeal’ trying to attract people to the idea of writing checks with the projection of a hero in this video.

Further the initiators have a plan to spread this campaign across other parts of the country besides creating promotional contests for the people and to attract them to the cause. In collaboration with some banks it is looking to provide offering checks to those people who never had checks to write.
