As per the 2010 PNC Christmas Price Index the market economy has gone up by 9.2% as the prices of goods and services have increased in a period of one year.


Since the recession period American markets have not seen much movement because people are still recovering from their financial problems that they had during the recession. However, the PNC Christmas Price Index shows a completely new picture where people are ready to spend even on goods and services that have their price increased. This clearly states that the economy has moved upwards during the 2010 year to some extent as people have the funds that they can use for celebrations. The price tag for the year is $23,439 which is $1,900 more than what it was found last year. The survey is done based on the commodities and gifts available in different stores that are popular and that people would buy during the Christmas season. One of the main reasons for the rise in the index could be because of the gold commodities that people are buying this year.
