What is LIVERESPECT Pledge?

On 11th of October, Sean Payton coach of NFL collaborated with NFL Player Association, Verizon Foundation and A CALL TO MEN for LIVERESPECT pledge. The motive of LIVERESPECT pledge is to end relationship violence and this pledge will bound the above mentioned bodies to create awareness among teens so that they can improve their commitment to treat people with dignity and respect without abusing others (emotionally and physically). Teens will also pledge that they will never blame anyone for being abused and in times of need they will speak out against violence.

A CALL TO MEN and its Aims

A CALL TO MEN cooperates with different organizations, colleges, NGO and different agencies of government which work all over USA to end relationship violence. A CALL TO MEN will organize different class sessions in high schools to educate teens and it will also help them in following ways;
  • To recover from past abuse
  • Improve expectations for equality and respect in relationships
  • Enhance safety of school campuses and promote youth leadership to prevent violence.
Role of NFL Coach to END Relationship Violence

NFL Coach Sean Payton Pledges to End Relationship Violence, Sean Payton was the very first person who took this pledge. Other players Chris Canty (New York Giants), D'Brickashaw Ferguson (New York Jets), Jeremy Zuttah (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Tra Thomas (Philadelphia Eagles) and David Caldwell (Indianapolis Colts) joined him later.

Many other stars will contribute in Training Camps for Life programs and these programs will deal with topics like overcoming hardships, decisions and its aftereffects and healthy teen relationship. Sole purpose of this program is to create awareness about healthy relationship; training camps for life will be organized in Milwaukee, New Orleans, Boston and San Francisco in 2011 as well as different parts of USA in 2012.
