Reiki technique has a Japanese origin which is widely used all over the world for de-stressing and relaxation. Reiki technique has a Japanese origin which is widely used all over the world for de-stressing and relaxation. Reiki is made up of adding two Japanese words - Rei means “Higher Power" or “God’s wisdom” and the Ki means "life force energy". Therefore, Reiki as a whole means "spiritually guided life force energy."

In Reiki there is a transfer of energy which takes place from a practitioner to the patient to raise the body's own natural ability to restore overall health by balancing positive and negative energy. It is one of the many natural ways which is used to heal the body from many illnesses.

There is a “life force energy" which according to Reiki practitioner is the energy which flows through our body and makes us to live alive. It is believed that if this energy flow is low in some persons, they fell sick and stressed more easily as compared to the one whose energy flow is high. For the persons whose energy flow is high they are believed to live more healthy life and feel happy about everything in life.

A patient who gets this treatment feels the radiance glow and positive energy flow around them. This technique not only treats the health of the body but also mind, emotions and provides peace of mind.  It is all natural way of cure which means no tension of any side effects. It is simple technique so that anybody can learn.  However, it has been found that Reiki technique is not taught in the real sense rather it is transferred from a Reiki master to his or her student during a Reiki class.

Dr. Mikao Usui is a founder of the Reiki technique. He has found that the healing techniques that he use was also based on some spiritual system but it worked very well on many health ailments. He has opened his first school in the year 1922 in Harajuku, Tokyo. He named this technique as Reiki and become a practitioner until he died. The technique was transferred and passed to many masters of Reiki afterwards.

So till today Reiki has been used as a natural therapy which brings calmness and peace by keeping away the negative energies coming around the body and clear the blockage for the positive energy coming near you.

The laying of hands is the same process which is used in Reiki therapy as well as in spiritual healing. However, there is a difference between them as regards to the way energy is being transferred or is taken or absorbed. In spiritual healing, positive or the strong energy is being transferred from practitioner or master to the recipient or the student. In Reiki it is quite opposite; it is the student or the recipient who actually extract that positive energy from his or her master or practitioner.

Reiki is found beneficial for the treatment of many serious health disorders such as sports injuries, burns, cuts, illness relating to stress, internal diseases, etc. Benefits of Reiki can be experienced only by the persons who experienced it and they found it very enjoyable.

In one of the position hands are kept on both side of the nose and the palms are used to cover the eyes. Thumbs are being kept on the nose bridge and the tips of the finger on cheeks such that it reaches to the upper side of the lip. This process of Reiki is used to cure cough and cold, eye problem, sinusitis, allergies and others.

So we find that the position of hand is most important in Reiki to be taken care of. However, there are many other things and circumstances which are also very important for Reiki practicing.
